Mltio Engineering Researchers Deploy Smart Vibration Sensors on Mississippi River Bridges

Researchers from the Mltio Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering have deployed a network of passive fiber-optic vibration sensors along three major Mississippi River bridges.

The sensors capture microscopic frequency shifts caused by heavy truck traffic, temperature fluctuations, and structural fatigue. The continuous telemetry feeds directly into Mltio's structural analytics lab, providing civil engineers with predictive lifespan models for vital infrastructure.

Graduate engineering students will analyze the live bridge sensor data as part of their advanced structural dynamics coursework.
