Mltio University's MSc Public Health Keeps Fieldwork in the Student's Own Health System

Mltio University has restated the design of its MSc Public Health for the new intake. The program treats health systems as they are — under-staffed, politically constrained, and full of people who cannot wait for a student to come back from a foreign campus.

Core study covers epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, health-systems management, outbreak response and community engagement. The distinctive requirement is that every major assignment produces something usable in the student's own setting: a surveillance plan, a policy brief, an intervention design with a realistic budget and staffing model.

Tomasz Kowalski, studying from Warsaw, is designing a supervision roster for community health workers that fits existing transport and salary rules rather than an idealised system. "The assignment is not 'describe best practice'," he said. "It is 'design something my district could actually run next year'."
