Built for legal-grade evidence

mltio combines Bitcoin blockchain immutability with OpenTimestamps, RFC 3161 TSA, and Sigstore Rekor to create independently verifiable proof of existence, integrity, and ownership.

Bitcoin blockchain anchoring

Your file's SHA-256 hash is embedded in a Bitcoin OP_RETURN transaction. The TXID is a permanent, publicly verifiable record that cannot be altered or backdated.

Maximum proof (OTS + TSA + Rekor)

Triple independent attestation: OpenTimestamps for Bitcoin-backed stamping, RFC 3161 for qualified timestamps, and Sigstore Rekor for transparency log entries.

EU qualified timestamps (eIDAS)

RFC 3161 timestamps from recognized authorities provide legal recognition under EU eIDAS regulation alongside blockchain proof.

Court admissibility

Blockchain certificates are valid worldwide because they are guaranteed by mathematics. Courts in the US, EU, UK, China, and other jurisdictions have accepted blockchain evidence in IP disputes.

Independent verification

Anyone can verify a certificate using only free public tools — block explorers, Rekor, OpenTimestamps. No mltio account or cooperation required.

How to verify without mltio

Three independent verification paths depending on your proof type.

Bitcoin

  1. 1.Compute SHA-256 of original file
  2. 2.Open TXID on blockstream.info
  3. 3.Confirm OP_RETURN matches hash

Maximum proof

  1. 1.Download evidence pack
  2. 2.Verify .ots, TSA token, and Rekor entry
  3. 3.All three must match same hash

Rekor / OTS

  1. 1.Compute SHA-256 of original file
  2. 2.Look up Rekor UUID or verify .ots proof
  3. 3.Confirm hash matches certificate
